January Manager's Message

January 9, 2018

Greetings Hub City Co-op members and customers,

Hopefully everyone and your families enjoyed the holidays.  As we head into the new year I am excited to announce some big changes at the Co-op. Being the only grocery store in downtown Spartanburg, along with the completion of the residential properties this year, we are going to begin to position ourselves as the local community market where you can get all of your needs at affordable pricing. How are we going to do this?

Well, based on your overwhelming feedback, we are going to start offering lower priced options in our grocery, frozen food, dairy and produce departments. This means there will now be conventional choices on several products. We are not going to get away from being your source for all-natural, organic and healthy choices, but want to offer more options for the entire community. We are going to continue our commitment to the local community as well. In fact, once growing season starts, we will be sourcing the majority of our produce and meats from local farmers. In addition, we are looking to add local vendors every day. We will also be increasing our community involvement through partnerships with local charities and businesses as well.

Look for these changes to start happening sometime at the end of January and beginning of February. Another important item is that we will be conducting an in-store survey shortly and hope that everyone participates as it will give me some of the information I need in order to determine how we can be a better partner to our members and community.

As always, please say hello on your next visit and let me know how we're doing. I am looking forward to great things in 2018!

Tony
